Woodland Shade Gardening

Woodland shade gardening with a purpose – pleasure, creativity, rainwater collection!

The Talking Clematis.

The 50+ tiny clematis plants have already elected a blossomed clematis spokeswoman to tell me they are all happy in their new habitat! This morning, on my first trip out to the patio after daylight, this is the blossom I saw.  Yes, that bud has been incubating since well before I transplanted these clematis two weeks ago, but this clematis spokeswoman assured me the habitat is suitable enough to provide at least this one blossom this season.  Will the plants cover the fence with foliage and become a delicious living screen?  Will there be more blossoms?  The clematis spokeswoman said, simply, “Patience is a virtue, the virtue that makes a good gardener”.
