Woodland Shade Gardening

Woodland shade gardening with a purpose – pleasure, creativity, rainwater collection!

I GOT THEM!

The Southern Yew plants arrived today, well packaged and healthy. As you can see, I have my own in-house quality control inspector. And one uninterested in-house lady.  Actually, when I get the camera, Emily begins to follow me around and sit and pose.  It’s amusing.  But, anyway, back to the plants:  should I set them in the ground this time of year, with a cold snap getting ready to happen tonight?  Or should I pot them in these lovely little recycled cookie containers from the bakery at Harris Teeter?  That would be pecan/coconut cookies.  DELICIOUS!  Let me know what to do about this decision to plant, or to pot.
